Our Services

One-On-One Coaching

Personalized sessions tailored to each student’s unique needs. Coaching focuses on building organization, time management, study strategies, and emotional resilience to boost both academic performance and confidence.

Small-Group Sessions

Interactive groups where students learn and practice skills together in a supportive environment. These sessions encourage collaboration, peer connection, and the development of problem-solving, communication, and social-emotional skills.

Family Consultations

Guidance and support for parents and caregivers to better understand their student’s needs. Consultations provide strategies for creating structure at home, improving communication, and fostering consistency between school and family life.

Joe Cook

Having over a decade of experience in tutoring and mentoring, I am very excited to be a part of Movement Counseling and Wellness. I earned a BA in English Literature with minors in Philosophy and Anthropology and went on to earn my MFA in Writing and Poetics. I specialize in students with learning challenges and am able to teach all subjects through the AP level.

For me, it is more about growth than straight A’s. I believe deeply in setting students up for success for the rest of their lives through skill building, organization, and a thirst for knowledge and understanding. I believe that every student should be respected and offered the greatest opportunities for success. For that very reason, I have been privileged to represent many students during the IEP/504 process as well as provide all aspects pertaining to college applications. Lastly, I fervently believe in diversity, equality, and integration; I am committed to providing a safe space and consider myself an ally of LGBTQ+ community.

Being a part of Movement Counseling and Wellness as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), I specialize in serving individuals ages 8 and up. With over three decades of experience in public education and a comprehensive background as a middle school counselor, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this role.

In addition to my clinical work, I am passionate about blending academic support with therapeutic services, recognizing the vital role that education plays in overall well-being. I strive to create collaborative working relationships with students, families, and schools, serving as a liaison to ensure that each student receives the necessary support to thrive in both academics and personal settings. Through personalized tutoring, advocacy, and coordination with educators, I work to bridge gaps in communication and resources, fostering an environment where students can succeed in a multitude of learning environments. At Movement Counseling and Wellness, I am committed to fostering personal growth and well-being in every individual I support. By creating a safe and empathetic space, I prioritize building positive and trusting relationships that recognize the interconnectedness of body, mind, and soul. My ultimate goal is to facilitate self- understanding and growth and empower individuals to make meaningful and lasting positive changes in their lives.
