Group Therapy

Sessions run between 60–90 minutes, depending on the group.

Most groups run for 4–12 weeks and are cohort-based (closed) unless noted otherwise.

Participants build practical strategies for coping, communication, emotional regulation, and self-reflection.

Yes. Group members and facilitators commit to maintaining confidentiality to ensure a safe, respectful environment.

All groups meet in person at Movement Counseling + Wellness.

Groups are $60 per session. Depending on your insurance coverage, groups may be fully covered and free to you.

Groups are open to anyone who meets the group criteria. You do not need to be a current MCW client, but you do need to have an individual therapist.
At MCW, our groups create spaces where individuals can explore their experiences alongside others with similar challenges and goals. Through shared stories, guided reflection, and evidence-based practices, participants gain clarity, connection, and new ways of navigating life’s transitions.

Middle School Skills Group
Thursdays from 5:00-6:30pm
About the group: This group supports adolescents in building strong emotional management skills within a safe and encouraging space. Through Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), members will learn practical tools to manage emotions, improve relationships, and handle the challenges of school and everyday life with confidence. These are skills they can carry with them well into the future.
High School Skills Group
Tuesdays from 4:00-5:30pm
About the group: This group is designed for teens who are ready to build confidence in handling life’s challenges. Through Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), members will learn strategies to manage stress, improve communication, and strengthen relationships. The skills gained in this group support success in high school and prepare teens for the transition into adulthood.
Trauma-Informed Art Group
Saturdays from 11:00am-12:15pm
About the group: Explore healing through creativity in a supportive, trauma-informed space. This group invites young adults to use art, like scrapbooking, collage, and other creative projects, to process experiences, express emotions, and build resilience. No art experience needed, just a willingness to create, connect, and heal together.
Rewriting Our Stories: Narrative Therapy Group
Beginning January 28th | Every other Wednesday from 6:00-7:15pm
About the group: Inspired by Retelling the Stories of Our Lives by David Denborough, this group offers space to rediscover your story, find new meaning, and express yourself through art and writing—no experience needed.
